AI & Usage

What your plan's AI covers, what you've used, and how your words are treated.

Checking your current allowances…

AI allowance

These writing tools share one allowance. Tokens measure the text processed and the AI response, including instructions; they are not an exact word count. Longer passages and responses use more.

Psitta Editor
Reviews prose and suggests improvements to clarity, flow and style. Reviews run in batches of up to 12 paragraphs and 12,000 characters.
Spelling & Grammar
Checks spelling, grammar and punctuation. Checks run in batches of up to 12 paragraphs and 12,000 characters.
Summarize
Creates a summary from the beginning of a document, up to 50,000 characters. For a long manuscript, summarize shorter documents to cover every section.
Story Coach
Reviews a passage for narrative guidance. Each request analyzes up to the first 8,000 characters of the passage.
Structure Analyzer
Examines manuscript structure and offers guidance. Each request analyzes up to the first 30,000 characters.

When this allowance is exhausted, new writing AI requests stop until the account period renews. If a tool is temporarily unavailable, retry later. You can continue writing and editing manually.

Premium narration

Premium narration has a separate character allowance. It counts text sent for premium audio generation, including spaces and punctuation; it does not use writing AI tokens.

If premium narration reaches its limit or cannot produce audio, Psitta tries a standard narrator. The voice may change. If playback still fails, choose another narrator or retry later.

Standard narration does not spend the premium character allowance or writing AI tokens.

Styled images

When Insert Image is available, each successfully generated styled preview uses one unit, even if you do not insert it. Several styles use several units. Failed styles do not count.

Psitta can try an available fallback when image generation fails. If a styled preview cannot be produced or the allowance is exhausted, you can use the original image instead. The original does not use image-generation units.

Your work and your choices

Text submitted for AI assistance or narration, and images submitted for styling, are processed to provide those features. Review AI results: they can miss details or make mistakes. You choose which writing suggestions to apply.

Writing manually, organizing your Library and using bookmarks do not use these AI allowances. Library storage is a separate limit, shown in the storage section of Settings.
